What are the vision requirements for a DOT Physical?
You must have a distant visual acuity of at least 20/40 with or without corrective lenses:
- see at least 20/40 with both eyes together
- see at least 20/40 with the right eye
- see at least 20/40 with the left eye.
* Florida driving Intra-state is one eye 20/40
Can I wear contact lenses to do the vision test?
Yes
What if I have monocular vision?
Monovision is a disqualification for Inter-state driving. Monovision is allowed for Intra-state Florida driving.
What if I fail the vision part of the DOT Physical.
You will be put on hold until your vision is corrected.
What if I only have one eye?
You will be qualified for intra-state driving only. Meaning inside the State of Florida.
