Florida CDL drivers can check their license status online in seconds. Use the official link below to confirm your CDL is valid and to see if your medical card is still on file.
If you hold a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) in Florida, it’s smart to check your CDL status once in a while—especially after a DOT physical or if you recently renewed your medical card.
Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) has an official tool that lets you check your CDL status online for free.

After you enter your information, you can typically see:
- Your current license status (Valid, Suspended, Downgraded, etc.)
- CDL class and endorsements (as shown by the portal)
- Whether a medical certificate is on file
- Expiration information
Why checking your medical card status matters
A common issue is assuming your medical card automatically shows up with the state right away. Even if you completed your DOT physical, your CDL can still run into problems if your medical certification isn’t showing as valid on file.
